Gulfport Firefighter opens his own business serving unique snowballs and snacks

A Gulfport firefighter wanting to get more involved in his community decided to start his own mobile snowball business.

Wesley Phillips has been a firefighter for two years and works at the Combat Readiness Training Center in Gulfport.

Getting involved in the community has always been his way to give back and to serve when he is not putting out fires.

Phillips always wanted to open his own business that would allow him to travel around while putting a smile on people’s faces.

His mobile ‘Off the Grid Snow Shack’ serves unique snowballs where he uses fruit as cups and adds on special desserts depending on what snowball your order.

For example, a strawberry cheesecake snowball will have cheesecake bites in it.

The grand opening was two days ago and since then, the community has shared his Facebook page more than 170 times. “It’s a great way to interact with my community as much as I can, especially with the schedule I have as a fireman. We work three days a week and that leaves me with enough time to serve my community in other ways.”
