Gulfport Fire Department conducting maintenance on fire hydrants

The Gulfport Fire Department will be conducting maintenance on fire hydrants in the city this month.

Crews will be flowing, inspecting, and performing maintenance as needed to ensure the water system is flowing adequate amounts of water for firefighting operations and to make sure the hydrants are functioning.

Firefighters will be taking every precaution to minimize damage to lawns and landscaping.

Residents should also be aware there is a possibility of sediment in tap water. If that happens, let the water run in the faucet until it runs clear. For any other water problems, call 311.
