Gulfport City Councilman Ron Roland hospitalized after fall

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- Gulfport City Councilman Ron Roland is the hospital following a weekend fall.

Roland’s son posted on social media Monday letting the public know what happened. Roland is in critical, but stable condition after a serious head injury Saturday morning.

Family says he is receiving care and all are hopeful he is beginning the road to recovery.

The family does ask to hold off on visiting the ICU at this time so he can rest and heal.

His son saying updates will be provided as recovery progresses.

In a statement, Gulfport Mayor Hugh Keating said, “Our thoughts and prayers are with Councilman Roland and his family during this difficult time. Ron has been a dedicated public servant to our community, and we are committed to supporting him and his family in any way we can.”
