Gulfport Christmas festivities

The City of Gulfport is ready to get into the Christmas spirit starting tomorrow.

The Gulfport Christmas Parade will begin at 6 p.m. on Saturday. Before it begins the whole family can visit Sugarplum.

Sugarplum will start at 3 p.m. at the park in front of Hancock Bank in downtown Gulfport. It will include free pictures with Santa, face-painting, carolers, a coloring station for the kids and much more.

The parade will pass right in front of the park so there won’t be a reason to move. Gulfport Main Street Director Laurie Toups said, “I can’t wait and it’s so much fun to see the joy on everyone’s face and the children when they’re running around visiting Santa and playing the games and doing all the different things, they really do have a lot of fun and we’re expecting a large crowd of people to come in and it’s a great family activity. And it’s going to be a wonderful treat for the kids.”

The Gulfport Christmas Parade will end right at the entrance to the Harbor Lights Festival in Jones Park so you can continue with the Christmas joy there.

If you would like a look at the parade route you can check out the City of Gulfport’s Facebook page.
