Gulfport Biloxi International Airport wins grant to establish flight service to Washington, D.C.

The Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport is expanding its wings to incorporate non-stop flights to the nation’s capital.

Today, U.S Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith and U.S. Representative Mike Ezell announced a $365,000 grant to the Gulfport-Biloxi Regional Airport Authority to establish a nonstop flight service to Washington Reagan National Airport.

Hyde-Smith and Ezell wrote letters of support for the airport authority’s applications for Small Community Air Service Development Program grants.

The grant provides the airport with a revenue guarantee to cover recruitment fees, plus an associated marketing plan to recruit, initiate, and support new passenger air service between the Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport and the national’s capital.
