Gulfport Biloxi International Airport cuts ribbon on new maintenance facility

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- The Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport celebrated a major milestone. The airport cut the ribbon on its brand-new fleet maintenance facility.

This represents months of planning and investment designed to strengthen airport infrastructure and service capabilities.

The new 12,000 square foot facility cost a little over three million dollars and is located closer to the airfield and the airport’s terminal building, allowing maintenance staff to better take care of the facility.

The theme of the ribbon cutting was ‘From Blueprints to Game Plans’ and Gulfport Biloxi International invited multiple school mascots to participate in marking the milestone.

Executive Director Clay Williams says this is an exciting improvement for the airport.

The project received strong support from Governor Tate Reeves and was funded through the Restore Act.
