Gulfport Baseball: Cade Crosby commits to Southern Miss
From 2016 Conference USA Tournament MVP Daniel Keating to 2020 team captain Alex Nelms, the Gulfport pipeline through the Southern Miss baseball program runs strong and it just got stronger.
On Sunday, recent Gulfport graduate Cade Crosby made his verbal commitment to the Golden Eagles, a change of heart from his original signing with Samford University.
During his COVID-shortened senior season with the Admirals, Crosby led the team in hits and walks, generating a .300 batting average to go along with six runs and six RBI.
Crosby has been active this summer with the Louisiana Knights, playing several games right down the road at MGM Park.
The toolsy shortstop now gets the opportunity to play closer to home, something important to him in the midst of a global pandemic.
