Gulfport AT&T workers continue to strike
As AT&T workers continue to strike across the Southeast, a group in Gulfport doesn’t plan to stop anytime soon.
Some employees from the AT&T station 1 building in Gulfport are approaching day four of their strike, holding up signs asking for more benefits and pay.
The workers have been standing in front of their building since Saturday, holding up signs from the Communications Workers of America.
Union President Glenn Posey tells News 25 that they’re prepared to strike for weeks if nothing improves. “We do have, we have things in place from the national district to help people with their house notes, car notes, and as well as feeding their families. If we have to open up a daycare we will, medical bills as well. We have things in place to sustain us for a strike as long as needed.”
As of today, over 20,000 employees have joined in on the strikes with more expected in the coming days.
