Gulfport Arson Suspect Charged

Through a joint investigation between the Gulfport Fire & Arson Unit and the Mississippi State Fire Marshal’s Office, a Gulfport man was charged with 1st degree arson in connection with a fire that destroyed a building belonging to the Progressive Missionary Baptist Church on April 4th.
Thierre Marshay Moore, aka Tension, twenty four of Gulfport was arrested by the Gulfport Police at his home on 26 ½ Street earlier today.
Gulfport Fire Chief Michael Beyerstedt stated that “he was pleased with the interagency cooperation that led to the arrest of this individual”.
If convicted Moore could face a maximum of twenty years in prison.
“Arson fires affect many people lives, drive up insurance costs and ultimately damage the quality of life in our neighborhoods”, stated Tim Regan, Fire Investigator, “we take it seriously and work to ensure that those responsible for starting malicious fires are held responsible.”
