Gulfport Alum, Olympian Brittney Reese named new assistant coach at UC Long Beach

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- Gulfport High School is recognizing one of its most accomplished graduates.

Olympic Gold Medalist Brittney Reese begins a new coaching chapter as an assistant coach at the University of California in Long Beach, California.

After two decades of competing at the highest level, Reese transitioned to coaching at Gulfport High where she led the track and field program from 2023 to 2025.

Gulfport High and the entire Gulfport School District shared they are proud of Reese’s accomplishments and wish her the best. They thank her for her leadership, dedication, and lasting impact she’s made on the Gulfport community.
