Gulfport alum Laurel Dennis contributes to Southern Miss Beach Volleyball’s undefeated weekend

Gulfport alum and now Southern Miss freshman Laurel Dennis was on her A-game all weekend long as the Southern Miss Beach Volleyball program hosted their Beach-Burg invitational.

For their first home matches of the season, the Golden Eagles welcomed Mobile, Nicholls State, and Spring Hill to their beach volleyball complex.

Gulfport’s Laurel Dennis is known for her skills on a different court, taking home the mixed doubles tennis State Championship in 2021 with current Gulfport senior Ryland Buford, but what many people didn’t know is she was constantly on the road training and playing in tournaments enhancing her rich sand volleyball craft.

Now proudly repping the black and gold for her freshman season, Dennis showed up and showed out with her talented partners helping the Golden Eagles clinch a perfect 6-0 record on the weekend, sweeping the competition both days.

Southern Miss will head to LSU for their next match this Friday April 5th.

We are so very proud of Laurel, and we can’t wait to see all she continues to do with her beach volleyball career!
