Gulfport Alum/Cubs’ Pitcher Jonathan Holder nearing bullpen work
Gulfport and Mississippi State alum Jonathan Holder is nearing a return to the bullpen after being shut down in spring training a couple weeks ago due to a chest issue.
According to MLB.com, the first-year relief pitcher of the Chicago Cubs has been able to take part in long tossing off flat ground and appears to be making good enough progress to complete a bullpen session in the near future.
Holder is likely to begin the year on the ten-day injured list when the Cubbies head north to Wrigley to begin the 2021 campaign.
