Gulfport Alum and Former Mississippi State defensive lineman Kai McClendon commits to Washington!

We have some exciting news out of the Port City as one of their own has found a new home. Gulfport football alum and former Mississippi State defensive lineman Kai McClendon has announced his commitment to Washington!

The Mississippi all-star started five games as a true freshman in 2024 and had 30 tackles and 2 tackles for a loss. He missed this past season due to an injury and has three more years of eligibility.

When asked why Washington, McClendon said, “I love the facility, I love the city, and I love how Coach Fisch takes care of his players. I can’t wait to win some big time games.”
