Gulfport Aggravated Assault

A 16-year-old is facing aggravated assault charges after yesterday’s gunfire in a Gulfport neighborhood.

Shots rang out around 12:30 in the 2600 block of George Street. When police arrived, they located a teenage male victim who told police he was walking in the area when an unknown suspect pulled out a handgun and shot at him. The victim was not injured.

The suspect fled on foot but turned himself in today after a warrant was issued for his arrest. Bond for the juvenile suspect has been set at $250,000. He’s being held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Facility. A motive behind the shooting has yet to be determined.
