Gulfport advances to MHSAA 7A State Championship with 40-7 South State win over Brandon

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV) — Gulfport’s magical season continues, as the Admirals rolled to a dominant 40-7 South State victory over Brandon to advance to the MHSAA 7A State Championship.

The Admirals dominated from the start, scoring the first touchdown with ease on a long run by Cooper Crosby to gain control early. Gulfport would jump to a 28-0 lead halfway through the second quarter and took a 40-0 lead into the final minutes of the fourth quarter.

Up next, the Admirals will take on the Tupelo Golden Wave for the 7A State Title. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 6th, from Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville.
