Gulfport 15-year-old charged with possession of a gun on school property and shooting at a vehicle

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)-The Gulfport Police Department arrested a 15-year-old and charged him with one count of possession of a handgun on school property and one count of shooting at a vehicle.

The teen is a student at Harrison County School District.

On August 18th, officers responded to the area of Turnberry Avenue and George Street in reference to a person with a gun.

The investigation revealed that the 15-year-old had engaged in a verbal argument with other students on the school bus.

During the incident, the 15-year-old said he had a gun. After he got off the bus, he brandished the gun and shot it several times in the direction of the bus before fleeing the scene.

He was later transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center where he is being held in lieu of a $1,000,000 bond.
