Gulf Islands National Seashore closes Mississippi District in preparation for Tropical Storm Francine

GULF BREEZE, Fla. – Gulf Islands National Seashore will close the entire Mississippi District at 4 p.m. beginning September 10 in preparation for Tropical Storm Francine.
The Davis Bayou Campground will be closed effective at noon on September 10.
The Mississippi District includes the Davis Bayou Area, Davis Bayou Campground, and National Park Service-managed areas of the barrier islands in Mississippi.
All recreational use within the islands is discouraged until the closure is rescinded and the park resumes normal operations.
Commercial services should cease services immediately from Horn, Petit Bois, West Petit Bois, Cat, and Ship Islands. Concessionaire services to Ship Island via Ship Island Excursions will be discontinued until further notice.
