Gulf Coast Down Syndrome Society presents scholarship to Ocean Springs senior
Earlier this evening, one Ocean Springs High School graduating senior received a big surprise to help him in his next chapter of life.
During a drive-by parade in front of his home, Josh Williams was presented a $10,000 check to go towards his college education by the Gulf Coast Down Syndrome Society.
Family, friends, and other society members congratulated Williams on his achievement and recent high school graduation.
Williams has been accepted into the Access program at Mississippi State, a feat Williams accomplished along with the help of some very special people in his life. “Thank you to all my teachers and my family, my grandma. Hi Nana! And I love everybody. Most close to my heart is God.”
Gulf Coast Down Syndrome Society President Aleshia Jones said, “I hope Josh has a great time at MSU and we look forward to doing more like this in the future. And we want everybody just go to college and further their education or just become more well-rounded in their community.”
Williams will be moving to Starkville this fall.
