Gulf Coast Symphony Orchestra performs ‘Sounds of the Sea’ at Jones Park

The Gulf Coast Symphony Orchestra has given the Coast music for six decades and they returned to Jones Park where upwards of thousands gathered to hear them perform.

The orchestra, along with some opening acts, serenaded the crowd of parkgoers on a warm Saturday night.

Food trucks, tight performances and even an after-show fireworks display were on tap Saturday evening.

Executive Director Stacy Pair said between the weather and the massive turnout, conditions for the free concert were just right. “We’re thankful for this beautiful day — the weather has been just incredible. All of our partners have been wonderful, so we’re just excited that we get to do it again. So, this is our inaugural year back with Sounds by the Sea. We have Coast Big Band playing today, and we’ll have fireworks tonight, and then tomorrow we’ll also have a free concert at the Pascagoula High School Performing Arts Center.”

The Gulf Coast Symphony Orchestra is celebrating its 60th year in 2022.
