Gulf Coast Oyster Festival set for April

Raw, fried, charbroiled, on the half-shell, however you like your oysters you can get them at the first ever Gulf Coast Oyster Cook-off and Festival coming up this April.
The festival weekend will showcase the taste and talent of the best restaurants and chefs from all over the Coast and beyond. Oysters will be the star of the show, but a variety of other Gulf Coast seafood will also be available.
The fun kicks off Friday, April 14th and wraps up on the 15th on the Biloxi Town Green. There will be plenty of live entertainment to set the tone while guests enjoy the food booths, arts and crafts, and a classic car show. Event Promoter Glenn Mattina Jr. said, “The oyster industry is really taking off, especially with the restaurants. I mean, you see oysters being cooked and broiled in just about every seafood restaurant along the Coast so you know, we thought it was good timing with the state doing what they’re doing to restore the oyster industry and also tying in the oyster festival and the great restaurants, inviting them to come out and showcase themselves. It’s a match made in heaven.”
