Gulf Coast Orchid Society held annual show and plant sale in Gautier

The Gulf Coast Orchid Society’s annual orchid show took place in Gautier over the weekend.

The society invited the public to view exhibits and even purchase plants.

160 orchids were also entered for judging, with eight receiving the coveted American Orchid Society awards.

These awards are given to orchid species or hybrids scoring 90 points or more on a 100-point scale. Gulf Coast Orchid Show Co-Chair Jo Ann Vaz said, “An AOS award, the plants are judged by not only the plants in this exhibit but by pictures of plants from all over the world. So, this is an honor to get an AOS award.”

This was year 42 for the annual orchid show.
