Gulf Coast Nonprofit Leadership Summit
Dozens of South Mississippi nonprofits gathered at the Coast Coliseum for a leadership forum to more effectively serve our Coast community.
The nonprofit leadership forums are held throughout the state to help them grow and learn as an organization. This is a collaboration between Volunteer Mississippi, Mississippi Alliance of Nonprofits as well as Gulf Coast Hub.
Some of the things touched on at today’s forums were fundraising, volunteer management, social media, and disaster preparedness.
There were around 60 nonprofits present including the Bacot McCarty Foundation, Ohr-O’Keefe Museum, and the American Cancer Society. Krista Estes with Volunteer Mississippi said, “In order for them to be able to grow, they need as many tips and as much help as possible like any business, but specifically nonprofits, so that they can build the effectiveness, so that they can bring in more volunteers to help them do more for the community.”
The forum has already made stops in the Delta and Jackson. The next forum will be on November 16th in Oxford for North Mississippi nonprofits.
