A Gulf Coast Memorial Day

The Gulf Coast is covered with people from all over.

Memorial Day is a time to remember those who fought and died for our freedom, but also a time to celebrate service members’ life and legacy.

Many people hit the beach to catch some waves and enjoy the hot, but beautiful weather. Louisiana resident Joe Gorman said, “We wanted to come to the beach. I’ve been saying all week I want to go to the beach to have fun. We rode the jet skis. We’ve been wanting to do that for a really long time so we had a real nice time. We always enjoy Biloxi, Mississippi.”

Bay St. Louis resident Pamela Terry said, “Barbeque, we boiled crawfish and just had a lot of fun and fellowship. The children got to go into the water and they did swimming. We did singing. There’s karaoke going on right now over there.”

Missouri resident James Berry said, “Oh, it’s been great. We’ve enjoyed it very much. It’s a lovely beach. We don’t have any beaches back in Missouri. It’s our first time here and we’ve really enjoyed it.”
