Gulf Coast Industries Needs Beads

Gulf Coast Industries does its part to help a specific portion of the Coast gain employment, but they need help to continue those services.
Gulf Coast Industries both employs and trains developmentally disabled adults. Through this work they learn skills needed to enter the workforce. One job they do is cleaning and sanitizing then repacking Mardi Gras beads. Currently GCI is out of beads which means they are not able to put people to work so they can earn a paycheck for the holidays.
The work activities manager tells News 25 the job means more than just money. Allen Forrest with Gulf Coast Industries said, “It gives them a purpose in life. It gives them something to look forward to on a daily basis. A lot of them if we weren’t there they would have absolutely nothing to look forward to. That’s why it’s so important to have everything available to them.”
If you want to drop off beads, GCI is located at 1110 42nd Avenue in Gulfport.
