Gulf Coast Head Start

Local head starts in the area will no longer be under the operation of the Gulf Coast Community Action Agency. The group was notified yesterday by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services that the agency’s appeal was denied, and its grant to run the program will be terminated. Few details about the case were given by officials at the Gulf Coast Community Action Agency.

Gulf Coast Head Start centers will now be operated by CDI Head Start on an interim basis. Officials from both groups will meet tomorrow to discuss the transfer of the head start program. News 25 will follow this story, and keep you updated.
