Gulf Coast Equality Council hosting auction

The Equality Council’s motto is ‘unify our community, celebrate our diversity.’ They’re a nonprofit mainly comprised of LGBTQ+ members.

The Gulf Coast Equality Council will be hosting an auction Friday night to raise money for future events, outreach activities, and programs.

They way the auction works is the highest bidder will win a date with select guys and gals. This is their biggest fundraiser of the year. Gulf Coast Equality Council Vice President Kristen Simms said, “So one of the main projects of the Equality Council is we’re trying to open a community resource center. The center is not just to benefit the LGBTQ+ community, but the entire Gulf Coast.”

The event starts at 10 p.m. tonight at Sipps in Gulfport. The highest winning bid of the evening will also receive a $75 gift certificate to Centennial Plaza in Gulfport.
