Gulf Coast Community Foundation honors former CEO with legacy fund
Gulf Coast Community Foundation honored a founding member by endowing a fund in his name during GCCF’s 35th anniversary celebration held Friday morning at the Knight Nonprofit Center in Gulfport.
The new Rodger Wilder Legacy Fund honors the former CEO and will be used to address child welfare needs.
The foundation also made a $50,000 grant to the Stone County Community Endowment Fund to support charitable needs in Stone County and added $50,000 to the Biloxi Wade In Fund to support the design of the Biloxi Wade In Memorial.
GCCF President Christen Duhe said the donors’ generosity allows them to help others through the grants. “We started doing this to really show our donors, we’re celebrating our 35th year. So since 1989 because of our donors, we are able to give the community over $100 million in grants, scholarships, supporting community projects and other things like that.”
The breakfast not only included giving out the grants, but also honored GCCF donors.
