The Gulf Coast Bicycle Club will host their 12th annual Southern Magnolia 100 Ride this Sunday.
The event will ride from the Success Community Center in Saucier on School Road to Flint Creek and back.
The club hosts this ride to help promote cycling for people of all levels. Six trails will be available at different lengths marked at 12,25,40,56,62, and 100 miles each.
The first group of riders go out at 7 a.m. and the second group goes out at 8 a.m. The event is expected to host over 300 riders with 100 of them riding the 100-mile trail.
Finishers will be given a t-shirt and a finisher’s medal as well as a spaghetti lunch. Gulf Coast Bicycle Club president Eddie Holmes said, “Like I said, it is to promote cycling. This is our way we can bring everybody together and you know people get the opportunity to see how far they can ride. At the end of the ride, there’s a big finish line shoot and finisher’s medals for everybody. It’s just a good time.”
