Gulf Coast Association of Pride holds annual Pride Festival

BILOXI, Miss. (WXXV)- Over the weekend, the Gulf Coast Association of Pride celebrated Pride Month with a vibrant celebration on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

The all-day festival was packed with live performances, food trucks, local vendors, games, and heartfelt moments.

Special guest speakers shared inspiring stories of self-love and acceptance.

Hosted by GCAP, a nonprofit dedicated to uplifting the LGBTQIA+ community, the event brought joy, unity, and pride to people across the Coast.

GCAP works year-round to build a more inclusive South Mississippi, one celebration at a time.

One organization was going out their way to spread love with free hugs. Celeste Spencer said, “ We just are out here to spread love and give hugs. Everybody needs a hug and they’re free. And we’ll give one to anybody who needs one or wants one. You know, people need love these days. They just need a hug and it’s a form of communication that just says, you’re enough and you’re worthy.”

The day was filled with love, laughter, and pride, uniting the Coast in celebration and reminding us all that inclusion matters, every day of the year.
