Guests celebrate pop culture at sixth annual Hancock Library System Fanfest

The Hancock County Library System’s Fanfest gave gaming and comic book enthusiasts a chance to celebrate all things pop culture this weekend.

Participants were able to compete in cosplay and art contests, view exhibits, and tour the expo hall where guests interacted with creators and performers from every type of fandom.

Library System Executive Director John Brdecka is excited to bring an event like this to Bay St. Louis. “People can’t believe it that there’s something like this in the small town as Bay St. Louis and free to the public. It’s overwhelming. Everyone’s been so positive about it. Everyone’s liking it. They’re so grateful to have such an event here in their own backyard.”

This marked the return of fanfest to Bay St. Louis after missing a few years due to the COVID pandemic.
