Grill masters show off their skills at the 3rd annual Grillin’ the River City
If you passed by the Moss Point Riverfront Saturday, you may have caught the great smells of grilled and smoked barbeque.
The third annual ‘Grillin’ the River City’ was organized by the Moss Point Main Street Association.
Attendees were able to enjoy an array of smoked and grilled delicacies. A total of 16 teams of grill masters competed in various grill-off categories.
News 25’s Grant Chighizola and Ansley Brent were there all day as judges for the event.
Local barbeque masters share with us a few secrets on their art of grilling. Grill Master Josh Bell with Lumberyard said, “It’s all in the prep work, man. All of it is your marinade, your brines, even if you didn’t get 12 hours on a brine on any of this meat, that’s really going to break down some of those hard cartilages. So, when you when it hits the smoker, it breaks them down even more when you’re going low and slow and cooking for a long time.”
Grill Master Richard Perkins with Tipsy Pigs said, “Make sure that one bite is perfect. So, you know you got to have the special, the perfect tamp the time, the flavor and everything like that to make sure that that one bites just right.”
