Grief recovery programs

Getting through grief is a lot easier when you have somebody to lean on.
This is just one reason why First United Methodist Church of Gulfport provides several grief recovery workshops year round. The church’s divorce recovery workshop helps people deal with divorce and separation issues.
The Broken Rainbow Program is for children who are having difficulty dealing with divorce or a death in the family. The Grief Recovery Workshop is for anyone dealing with the emotional pain that follows the death of a loved one.
These workshops are open to people of all walks of life and faith as well as a candlelight and communion gathering at the church on Christmas Eve. Reverend Claire Dobbs said, “This goes as a reminder that we need God and we need each other. We encourage all people to find a church on Christmas Eve as a reminder that we need God and each other.”
The public is invited to attend the Christmas Eve Candlelight and Communion Gathering. It starts at 5 p.m. The church is located at 2301 15th Street in downtown Gulfport.
