The Great Kindness Challenge at Delisle Elementary

Kindness is contagious: that’s what the teachers and staff at Delisle Elementary School in Pass Christian have been and continue to promote this month.

They even created a video in hopes of inspiring their fellow students. It portrays students performing acts of kindness and how that has a ripple effect.

Teachers are also discussing with students ways they can be kind and make a difference during class with posters hanging up all over the school to serve as a reminder.

Ms. Fisher, the gifted teacher for grades second through fifth, is the one who made the video and she says it is all about teaching the children about how small acts can have big results. “We’re teaching the kids that something as small as picking something up, opening the door for somebody, it doesn’t take a lot of effort just to be kind and just instilling those morals. As teachers we are leaders in the school as well and we want to give them what we want to see out of them as well.”

Delisle has been a part of the National Great Kindness Challenge for three years.
