[Graphic Content] Horse Killed by Traffic in Gulfport

This morning in Gulfport, a horse running free in a neighborhood on Phifer Lane was hit and killed by traffic.
Residents discovered the horse lying dead near the roadside and believe the driver responsible for the horse’s death fled the scene.
Those living in the area say that this is the second horse to die in the neighborhood within months and that this was not the first time that this horse had been left to run free.
The man responsible for the animals lives out of state and is aware of the situation, but residents say he has failed to correct the problems occurring on their street.
Residents say animal control responded to the incident around noon and are expected to follow up with the landowner.
