Grant Me Hope: 13-year-old Kaylee in Mississippi looking to be adopted
(WXXV) — 13-year-old Kaylee has been waiting over a year and a half for a permanent home.
We spent some time with Kaylee at Jones Park in Gulfport. Here’s what she had to say:
“Hi my name is Kaylee, I’m 13 and I’m going into 8th grade. My favorite outdoor activity is probably basketball. I also do MMA. I would love to learn how to do a backflip.
“I want to be a veterinarian when I grow up. If I can have one kind of animal it’d be a lin, or a tiger. If I could change the world I would try to stop racism. I haven’t experienced racism really but I have seen other people get bullied by it in school and I would take up for them rather, whatever color they are.
“I made some friends when I was camping and I got their number. I really enjoy making new friends. I like to watch movies with my friends.
“Adoption to me means to find your forever home. Somewhere you can stay and you don’t have to keep on moving around and moving around. What does family mean to me? To have somebody you can look up to if you need help. You can ask them for help. I would love to see in a family a forgiving environment.
“In my other foster homes, like if I get in trouble they get mad easy. They don’t get mad at their kids and stuff like you just get treated different.
“If I had one wish it would probably be to find my forever home. The most important thing is that I’m a good kid.”
