Grand Reopening of the Win Job Center in Gulfport
Right here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, residents can take advantage of the Win Job Center. The center is a valuable tool for finding employment throughout the entire state. As of today, the center is bigger and better than ever.
The Win Job Center in Gulfport hosted a grand reopening this afternoon, welcoming employers from across the Coast, potential employees, and members of the Mississippi Department of Employment Security to their facility.
The center is showcasing several new partnerships and resources for those looking to improve their professional status. Among the services offered are job placement assistance, job and skill training, priority services for veterans, a GED program and much more.
This was all made possible by partnerships with MGCCC, the Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services and the Department of Human Services. Alfred Brooken with the Win Job Center said, “We have additional partners that are housed in the facility. It makes it easier for customers to come in for services. We can provide all the services at one center which is called the comprehensive center. To help Mississippians get jobs is awesome and that’s our primary focus here to help Mississippians get jobs. That’s our mission statement if you will, so with all of these partners and all of these employers around, this is going to make it a whole lot easier for our citizens of Mississippi to obtain suitable and sustainable employment.”
There are 43 Win Job Center locations in the state, but Gulfport’s comprehensive center is the first of its kind.
