Grand reopening for health care college in Gulfport
One health care college is back in business and ready to make an impact in the community.
Grove Health Care College and Reclaiming Our Community Nonprofit held its grand reopening today in Gulfport.
It’s an allied health college that will be providing training for certified nursing assistants, phlembotomists, medical assistants, and pharmacy technicians.
It was also the grand opening for the Reclaiming Our Community Nonprofit, which aims to provide assistance on high school diplomas and on-the-job training.
Carricka Thomas is ready to bestow her wisdom to students entering the medical field.
“Now it’s at a point where I’m trying to give back. and also try to share some of my knowledge that I have. [It] is one of the things that we go by with ROC, as well as the school, is an old proverb, each one teach one,” said Thomas. “Meaning any knowledge that you have, it’s your responsibility to pass it on to the next generation.”
Thomas said she appreciates how Gulfport has welcomed Grove Health Care College and ROC in the community.
