Grand Bear Golf Club to hold Patriot Golf Day Tournament

Tomorrow Grand Bear Golf Club will be hosting its third annual Patriot Golf Day Tournament.

This tournament was created to raise funds for the ‘Folds of Honor Foundation’ which is a nonprofit organization that helps provide the families of fallen and disabled service members educational scholarships.

The tournament raised about $10,000 in 2019 and about $15,000 in 2020.

Approximately 136 golfers will participate in the tournament with prizes for top three finishers. Closest to the pin and hole-in-one prizes will also be sponsored by Mercedes-Benz of South Mississippi and Golf Invite. Grand Bear Head Golf Professional Alan Martel said, “The military and their families are what this country is built upon. So, I mean being able to donate back to a charity that helps out those guys and ladies is really something near and dear to myself and the whole facility here at Grand Bear.”

The tournament will be at 10 a.m. with a shotgun style start with four-person teams.
