Governor Tate Reeves expected to call a special session

Jackson, Miss. (WXXV)- Everyone is waiting for the governor to call a special session, bringing lawmakers back to the capitol to pass a state budget.

The house adjourned leaving the senate in Jackson without a budget.

Governor Reeves is expected to make that call any day.

Mississippi must – by law – have a balanced budget and the fiscal year begins July 1st.

State Representative Jeffrey Hulum III stopped by WXXV today and told us the clock is ticking.
