Governor Tate Reeves activates Mississippi National Guard team to Florida
Governor Tate Reeves approved the deployment of soldiers from the Mississippi National Guard to Tallahassee.
The 22-man team of soldiers, aviators, and crewmen flew two Blackhawks from Jackson and a Chinook helicopter from Meridian to help with emergency response missions.
Reeves said, “Our state is no stranger to hurricanes and we’ll always be grateful for the assistance we’ve received in the past from people across the country. It’s only right that we now help our fellow Americans in their time of need. I know the Mississippi National Guard will do an excellent job assisting Floridians.”
