Governor Reeves issues executive order for day of official mourning for Deputy Malone

Governor Tate Reeves issued an executive order proclaiming a day of official mourning in the State of Mississippi.
This executive order states all flags of the United States and the State of Mississippi to be flown at half-staff on all buildings and grounds from sunrise until sunset on Friday, January 12, 2024, in remembrance of fallen office Deputy Jeremy Todd Malone, who lost his life in the line of duty on January 4, 2024.
Malone was killed in the line of duty on January 4th during a traffic stop in George County.
Services for Malone have been announced with a visitation taking place Thursday, January 11th at Agricola Baptist Church from 5 to 9 p.m. and funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 12th at Agricola Baptist Church.
