Gospel Christmas for Seniors
Hundreds of seniors packed the Woolmarket Senior Center today for the annual Gospel Christmas.
Between 300 and 400 seniors came through between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to hear the sounds of The Florida Boys, a group from Tennessee, and Howard Rutland of the Bibletones, among other performers.
The Harrison County Board of Supervisors and Senior Resources Agency puts this event together each year and organizers say there’s always a large turnout. Woolmarket Senior Center Director Janet Meaut said, “This is something they look forward to every year. They love the gospel music. They look forward all year for this event.”
Santa even made an appearance to mingle with seniors as they enjoyed lunch and fellowship.
