Golf cart parade set for Saturday in Gautier

People living near Hickory Hill Golf Course in Gautier might be yelling ‘fore’ on Saturday as a parade of golf carts makes it rounds.

The parade and celebration at Hickory Hill is planned to be the first of a yearly event. Treats, Santa Claus, carolers, and a tree lighting will await the parade back at the club.

The golf carts are getting together at 2 p.m. and will leave the course with a police escort around 3.

The Hickory Hill Country Club and Resort Facebook page will announce if the event is canceled due to weather, but caroling and a tree lighting, among other activities, are planned for Monday or Tuesday if that’s the case. Director of Golf Kevin Mac said, “It’s going to be going through the neighborhood that’s outside of the golf course. It will be 3.9 miles around the entire perimeter of Hickory Hill Golf and Country Club. And it will be nice and slow — people can come out, there’ll be candy canes being thrown, I’m sure. It’ll be a fun thing. It really will be.”

The forecast shows that rain is likely tomorrow afternoon.
