Global tech outage impact on local hospitals

The outage is not only affecting airports, it is also causing issues for hospitals nationwide.

News 25 reached out to the Coast’s two largest hospital systems, Singing River and Memorial Hospital. Here’s some very early information we have.

At this time, the outage is not impacting patient care at Memorial Hospital. Each patient is receiving the same level of care as if there was no outage.

Singing River Hospital does not utilize the program currently having the outage so they are also seeing no impact on patient care.

As a precaution, Singing River Health System is working alongside their IT team to check third party systems and make sure they are working correctly. So far, they’ve found no issue.

Both hospitals will continue to monitor this outage and WXXV will continue to check in with the hospitals throughout the day.
