Girl experiences close call on train tracks in Ocean Springs

A girl was nearly hit by a train in Ocean Springs this afternoon.

Police responded to reports of a person hit by a train at the crossing on Betchel Boulevard.

Ravin Nettles, the administration and community relations coordinator for Ocean Springs, says nobody was killed when the train hit the girl’s book bag.

The girl was only thrown to the ground.

Nettles says the girl refused medical attention.
