Getting back in the saddle: Jackson County Sheriff’s Rodeo
After a year hiatus, it is time to get back in the saddle in Jackson County come May.
The annual Jackson County Sheriff’s Rodeo will kick back up again this year after last year’s event was canceled due to COVID-19.
It will take place one weekend in late May at the Conrad Mallette Multi-purpose arena in Vancleave and will feature bull and calf roping, barrel racing, steer wrestling, and more. Jackson County Sheriff Mike Ezell said, “The annual rodeo that we’ve had every year for so many years, we weren’t able to do it last year. So, the plan is we’re going to have the Jackson County Rodeo later in May. We’ll have some fliers and information coming out about it, so come out and support the rodeo.”
The rodeo is set for Friday, May 21st and Saturday, May 22nd at the Mallette covered arena off Ball Park Road in Vancleave.
