George County woman charged in burglary case

A George County woman is in jail, charged with stealing a riding lawnmower.

Forty-year-old Lisa Lynne Howell was charged with commercial burglary, grand larceny, and petit larceny. She was taken to the George County Jail on a $6,500 bond.

George County Sheriff Keith Havard said deputies were sent to a business on Highway 26 Monday about a stolen lawnmower. Someone in the area said they saw a woman driving down the highway on a riding lawnmower like the one stolen.

They found Howell at a home near Twin Creek Road, where they found other items previously reported stolen.

The investigation is ongoing.
