George County Softball excels in first rubber match of South State defeating Hancock 3-2.

It’s a Gulf Coast Showdown as George County hosts Hancock at MGCCC for game one of the 6A South State Championship!

Both Lady Rebel ace Peyton Collin and Lady Hawk ace Teegan Dewitt were on fire at the mound, combining for 9 total strikeouts in the first four innings.

The rubber match was a shutout until the top of the fourth inning. Abigail Carver walked following by a Teegan Dewitt RBI triple and the Lady Hawks strike first 1-0! Paige Kreher hits a sac fly to Aryana Dixon, but it’s just enough to score Dewitt’s pitch runner and Hancock takes the lead 2-0.

George County hasn’t backed down from a fight all season long and they weren’t going to start that tonight. Collin would hold the Lady Hawks to two runs, and the Lady Rebels would go on to score three runs in the bottom of the 6th!

It’s the George County Lady Rebels with an electric game one victory over Hancock 3-2. Game two of this spectacular matchup will take place Thursday night at 5pm again at MGCCC. You don’t want to miss it!
