George County Sheriff’s Office warning against scam
GEORGE COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)-A phone scam is making the rounds in George County.
Sheriff office officials say the caller claims to be from the George County Correctional Facility, asking for payment to release a family member or friend from custody.
As a rule of thumb, never provide personal information, banking details, or credit card numbers to anyone who contacts you over the phone.
If you’re in doubt, just hang up and report the call to local law enforcement.
