George County Sheriff’s Department takes part in CIT training
GEORGE COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- The George County Sheriff’s Department deputies and jail officers took part in crisis intervention team training last week.
The training provides officers with valuable tools and knowledge to better respond to a person experiencing a behavioral health crisis.
The training focuses on recognizing signs of a crisis, communicating effectively, de-escalating, and connecting individuals and their families with resources.
The training also emphasizes the importance of working together with mental health providers and other community partners to ensure someone experiencing a crisis receives care and support.
